Statistical reports on real estate sales of the second half of 2021 were published by Centro de Información Estadìstica del Notariado (CIEN). According to the data stated in the report, real estate sales to foreign buyers in Spain increased by 41.9%.
The Spanish real estate market is promising in terms of annual yield because the number of foreign property buyers who are residing in the country increased by 27.4%. Also, the properties that were purchased by non-resident foreign buyers have reached 54.8% with an increase of 64.5%.
The Balearic Islands drew the most attention in terms of real estate sales. The biggest increase in real estate sales was observed was the Balearic Islands with an increase of 81.5%. The authentic Andalusia with 55% and the golden state Valencia with 44% followed after.
The Highest Demand for Spanish Properties Is from British Buyers
The most intense interest in properties in Spain was from British buyers. The British property investors constituted the group that bought the most real estate in Spain with 11.8%. They were followed by German buyers with 10.4% and French buyers with 8.3%.
German, Italian, Portuguese, and British buyers gained intensity in Valencia according to the statistics. The golden community of Spain appeals to European investors with nearly 300 sunny days, beautiful coasts, well-preserved nature, and a historical atmosphere.
The intense interest of foreign buyers also increased the property values in Spain. An 11.8% increase was observed in the average sales price paid by non-resident foreigners to the real estate. Real estate in the historical settlement Andalusia also mounted by 16.6%, 13.7% in capital Madrid, and 10% in Valencia.

CIEN announced that the data for February 2022 also shows a year-on-year increase of 19.2% in property sales throughout Spain. According to the February data, the Balearic Islands with 43.7%, and Valencia with 31.2% increase in sales stand out as the regions with the highest real estate sales in Spain in 2022.
