On April 27, 2021, The Government of Andalusia has approved a decree that reduces the ITP transfer tax and stamp duty (AJD). The property transfer taxes for resale properties has been decreased from the current rates of 8%, 9%, and 10% to a single general rate of 7%. In addition, the Stamp Duty (Documented Legal Acts) will go from 1.5% to 1.2%.
The government believes that this new tax measures will boost the real estate market in Spain by catching the attention of new investors during the pandemic.
The reduction will be valid on the day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) until December 31, 2021.
